Life is Funny…

So…my family had the house fire on Friday, then on Sunday my Dad’s car broke down. He found out that he needs a new engine. That was their only working vehicle. As you saw in the fire pictures, he has a non-working 1967 Firebird. They also have a mini van that needs a new engine. Wouldn't it be perfect for this story if I said their dog died too? Ha...well, they don't have one...just Wilson the guinea pig who was rescued by the fireman. There is some good news however…my Dad’s boss called him and said she would give him a company car to use for a month or so.

So…Adam drives Scott’s 1992 S10 pickup. Joel called us this morning to tell us that as Adam was driving him to school, the power steering went out. Shortly after that, the battery light came on. So, Scott went to pick them up. The good news here is that is was just the fan belt. My dad is going to get the new belt and fix it this morning. It shouldn’t cost much at all.

In other non-broken down car news…my Grampa is having a CT scan today on a lump they found on his neck. He will then see the surgeon next Tuesday to schedule the removal. Please pray that this isn’t cancer.

Some good news…Sonja and Landon…and also Mark and Taylor are all feeling much better. It turns out that they did not get sick from the peanut butter. They were all sick though. Scott’s mom and cousin will be arriving there tonight to help them pack. They close on their house next Wednesday. Good luck guys…moving is not the most fun thing I’ve ever done!

I’m just sitting here waiting on Navilink to pull up a file I have to print. For those of you who don’t know what Navilink is…GOOD FOR YOU! It is a dumb program.

I almost forgot! President Bush is coming to town today! I so want to get a picture, but I guess they think I'm a security threat or something...they have the roads blocked off.
