Sunday Morning at 3:30...

I bet you were sound asleep weren't you? We were not. Adam has been sick all weekend with nausea and stomach pains and about 3:30 Adam woke us up saying that it was getting worse. So we got to the hospital about 4:00 and they took him back almost immediately. They started him on an IV and took his temp. At that time he was not running a fever. About 7:00 they did a CT and found that his appendix was enlarged and noticed that it kinda looked like he had already passed a kidney stone and maybe diverticulitis. Then his fever shot up to 104 and instantly the nurses began stepping up the pace. They got him a room and scheduled surgery. Currently at 12:50 he is in surgery. Since they saw the other things in the CT they are going to remove the appendix and then do some pokin' around to see if they can find anything else.

We'll update when he gets out of surgery and when we find something else out.

UPDATE: Adam got out of surgery at roughly 1:15. The doctor said that his appendix was "really nasty" and it was oozing puss and so he had fluid in his abdomen. They washed it out and they said he should feel a lot better now. He will spend the night here and should be released tomorrow if all goes well.
